Neutron Core Pedal Packs are an integral part of the Neutron Core ecosystem, featuring NAM profiles meticulously crafted from iconic distortion, fuzz, overdrive, and compressor pedals. These profiles offer unparalleled tonal accuracy and flexibility for musicians and producers, enabling the recreation of legendary pedal tones in a digital format.
 
2. What’s Included
NAM (Neural Amp Modeler) Profiles:
The pack includes profiles optimized to sound as close as possible to the original devices. Featured pedals include:
Boss CS-2 Compressor
MXR Dynacomp Compressor
Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer Limiter
Scholz R&D Rockman Compressor
 
3. Profile File Structure
The Pedal Packs are organized into a clear and intuitive folder structure:
Profiles Folder: Each pack contains a dedicated folder with NAM profiles for the included pedals.
Compressor Profiles:
Labeled as High or Low based on the level of compression applied.
Devices without control knobs include a single profile optimized for NAM input-level tuning.
Compression levels can be further fine-tuned using NAM’s input settings, reducing the need for multiple profiles.
 
4. Installation Guide
Download NAM Software:
Ensure the latest version of Neural Amp Modeler is installed. Download it at www.neuralampmodeler.com.
Unpack Files:
Extract the Pedal Pack files to your preferred location.
Load Profiles into NAM:
Open NAM.
Select the desired profile from the extracted folder.
Input/Output Calibration
All profiles in this pack include input and return level calibration metadata.
To enable calibration in the NAM plugin:
Turn on “Calibrated” mode in the settings.
Enter the input calibration level: +6dBu = 0dBFS.
Calibration Instructions for Devices Without Auto-Calibration:
Humbucker-equipped guitar: Set your input level so peaks hit around -6dB.
Single-coil guitar: Adjust input level for peaks around -12dB.
Fine-tune further to taste.
 
Mix & Match Ecosystem: Combining Profiles for Maximum Flexibility
The Neutron Core system is a modular platform designed for seamless integration. Profiles can be combined for realistic results, replicating signal chains and tone-shaping techniques found in professional studios.
 
Combining Profile Types:
Pedal Profiles:
Use these at the start of your signal chain for drive, compression, or modulation effects.
Combine with amp profiles to recreate classic setups or design new tones.
All pedal profiles are calibrated for output levels close to unity, preventing large volume jumps when toggling pedals. Adjust further using the NAM output gain knob.
 
Calibration Options:
Enable “Calibrated” or “Normalize” mode in NAM settings to ensure proper output levels and alignment.
